The reliability of non-invasive neurological examinations in people with diabetes

چکیده

Background Pinprick perception, 128-Hz tuning fork vibration detection, ankle reflexes, vibration perception threshold (VPT) with a biothesiometer or similar instrument, and four site 10g monofilament assessment are all currently recommended methods for screening for diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). However, there is limited research investigating the reliability of these tests. The aim of this study was to determine the interand intratester reliability of the five neurological tests currently recommended for screening for DPN.
